My good friend, Chris Keff is moving on as owner of the acclaimed Flying Fish restaurant in Seattle after 18 years. She recently sold her restaurant to Xiao Ming Liu, a businessman who owns 15 restaurants in China. Chris will continue to consult with Liu for six months at Flying Fish, but will also be developing menus at their research facility in Sammammish. Here is a great article on the transition.
Rick and Deann Bayless hosted a benefit for their Frontera Farmer Foundation at their home this summer, raising $50,000 for local family owned farms. If you look closely, you will see our friend Kathy FitzGerald, who was one of the guests. It sounded from Kathy’s description when she was visiting here a couple of weeks ago, like it was a very memorable evening and the cochinita pibil was outstanding.
