We hope you are well; we have a few updates on our end! Our biggest update is that I, the person writing is not Carmen… but rather her eldest daughter Sofia. (Some of you may have met me as a baby in arms as seen below or in more recent trips … as seen further below). My husband, Wilmar, and I have moved back to Mexico after many years in NYC. We are excited to be collaborating with my mom, Carmen, to further continue and expand Marilyn’s legacy and that of all the contributing voices that helped us see the vast diversity of Mexican cuisines with intrigue and excitement. We hope that our combined experience working in the NYC food, wine and specialty coffee scene can contribute to dreaming up some exciting new trips and collaborations!
For 2027 we are cooking up a few new trips to wine and coffee country in Baja California and Veracruz as well as a state side mini trip where we can learn how to create favorite dishes from past trips using ingredients available in the US! Please see the time of year we plan to offer these trips here. We hope you can get a sense of what we would like to do; to bring you along as we re-discover Mexico and find spaces that are safe, equitable, multidimensional and lesser known!
We send our respect and hope that you can find comfort and community in food!
Sincerely
Sofia, Wilmar and Carmen
